A Note From Our PTA Legislative Chair

Happy New Year!
We are optimistic for 2019. The new Governor, Gavin Newsom was sworn in on Monday, January 7. The new Governor is a father of 4 children under the age of 10.  He’s a legislator and a father that understands the importance of investing in public education.
Newsom has a long history of prioritizing early education. He knows the impact that our education system can have if we invest in the earliest years. This year he has proposed a $2 billion dollar investment in early education to ensure that the foundation of our earliest learners is set as children enter kindergarten. Thus giving them the edge to successfully compete in kindergarten.
The Governors 2019 proposed budget will be released on Friday. You can see his education commitments by clicking here: http://www.ebudget.ca.gov/
As your Legislative Chair, I will be sure to share how the budget impacts our children.

Are you registered to vote? Have you moved and need to re-register?
